Salford Ladies Reserves 4 - 0 Lytham St Anne's

Lytham St Anne’s got the game under way and as expected started with a frantic pace, the pressure was on Salford.

Salford were having none of it though and got off to a flying start with two goals within 15 minutes of the game, both scored by Abbie Wynn.  The first came from a one two with Chelsea Scholes, Abbie Wynn was through on goal, and with only the keeper to beat she curled the ball into the back of the net.  The second goal came from some good passing between Kelly Burke, Lyndsey Newman and Ranade Coffey who sent Abbie Wynn through on goal and she fired her shot into the top corner 2.0.

Lytham St Anne’s weren’t finished, passing the ball well and showing some good individual football all their efforts were continually denied by Kelly Burke, Claire Beard and the Salford keeper Leanne Jones.

With twenty- five minutes gone and a sweeping move down the right wing with Katie Winder and Jess Daly Salford won a corner.  Lyndsey Newman floated the ball in, Lytham St Anne’s scrambled it away but only as far as Chantelle Hughes who hit the ball from thirty yards out giving the keeper no chance 3.0.

Lytham St Anne’s were on the back foot and nearly conceded three more goals two from Chelsea Scholes and one from Lyndsey Newman but the keeper made some fantastic saves and disappointed them both.

Thirty five minutes in  from a good interception  by Abbie Wynn and a quick counter attack Anne Beagan received the ball on the edge of the area and hit a cheeky ball over the keeper.  Lytham St Anne’s were up against it; Anne Beagan beat the offside trap and delivered a superb cross but Ranade Coffey was unable to convert.

Half-time 4-0.

In the second half Salford came out determined to add to their goal tally.  Salford’s keeper Leanne Jones didn’t have much to do in this half with Chantelle Hughes and Katie Winder providing some good defending and not letting Lytham St Anne’s anywhere near goal.

With some good football from both teams Salford won a corner and in the scramble the keeper made a brave save but unfortunately she was injured in the process and was unable to continue.
Full-time 4-0.

Salford Ladies FC wishes the goalkeeper of Lytham St Anne’s a speedy recovery.
