Straight from kick off Salford were put on the back foot by a determined Rossendale team. For the first 15 minutes most of the game was in the Salford half with Rossendale constantly poking and prodding, eventually scoring 2 goals in quick succession.
Salford had their work cut out, with a sweeping move down the right wing Kelly Burke crossed to Anne Beagan who converted with a thunderous shot into the top corner, Rossendale were now on the back foot. With some good work coming from Kim Doyle, Anne Beagan was able to score her second goal of the match 2-2.
The second half kicked off with Salford once again under the cosh, but with some sterling defending Salford was able to contain Rossendale. Salford broke away, Katie Winder passed in field to Ranade Coffey who knocked it wide, Kelly Burke crossed the ball to Anne Beagan only to have her shot pared by the Rossendale keeper.
Salford took the lead with some good work from Claire Beard crossing to Kim Doyle who chipped the goalkeeper 3-2. Rossendale fought back and were given a penalty, which was converted, final score 3-3.
Kelly Hulme, Salford's keeper had an outstanding game on her debut.
