Leyland 3 - 1 Salford
After an impressive win at home to Leyland last weekend, Salford were looking to add another positive result to their tally.
Salford started the game well, passing the ball and creating chances. Leanne, Adora and Michelle were continually attacking but couldn't convert their chances. The deadlock was ended when Leyland's defender headed the ball into the back of the net from a corner kick. Salford kept pressing with more chances being missed and went in at half time one nil down. The second half saw Salford continue to control the game, but Leyland defended well and the Leyland keeper pulled off save after save keeping Salford off the score sheet.
Salford went two nil down when a ball into the box was only half cleared and Leyland put the ball past the Salford keeper.
Heads didn't go down, Salford responded with the best goal of the game when Jibby brought the ball under control turned on a sixpence, went past a Leyland player and laid an inch perfect ball through to Michelle who fired past the Leyland keeper.
Working hard and defending well, with two great saves from Sam and more attacking football Salford were unlucky not to have found the back of the Leyland net. It wasn't to be Salford's afternoon when Leyland bagged a third towards the end of the game.
Full-time 3-1.
