Curzon Ashton Res v Salford Ladies FC Blues

Curzon Ashton Reserves 6 - 1 Salford Ladies Blues

After a long period with no games Salford travelled to the Tameside Stadium looking forward to the fixture against Curzon Ashton Reserves.

Within the first ten minutes Salford were on the score sheet with some excellent passing, a ball was sent through to Michelle who beat the Curzon defence and slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Time and time again Salford produced some good football beating the Curzon defence only to have the Curzon keeper, charge out and stop Salford from scoring another four or five goals.

Salford's frustration was beginning to show and bad mistakes allowed Curzon to dominate the game, within minutes they had equalised.  Lack of concentration and a few more mistakes from Salford gave Curzon the opportunity to add more goals to the score sheet.  Salford went in at half time 5-1 down.

With a change of formation Salford started the second half much the same has the first and kept the pressure on, skipping through the defence only to be continually denied a goal by the Curzon keeper.

Once again a mix up in defence gifted Curzon a goal, but Salford going an extra yard began to frustrate the opposition who were only able to shoot from outside the area, Salford were continually held back from scoring by some good saves.Full-time 6-1.

Match Summary

Curzon Ashton Reserves showed Salford Ladies Blues great respect by fielding 7 first team players, if Curzon dominated the first half Salford definitely controlled the second.  All credit to Salford, special mention to, Tilly, Holly, Jodie and Jibby who continually closed the door on Curzon with tremendous tackles, and to every other member of the team who put in such a great effort.
