Burnley 1 - 5 Salford Reserves

Salford started the first half slow off the mark, it was Burnley that made the running which produced a couple of scares for Salford who seemed to be struggling to get a good defensive grip on the game. A Salford defensive error saw Burnley take the lead in the match. Moments later Salford were awarded a penalty when Kerry was brought down just inside the box, Anne stepped up to take the penalty but unfortunately her spot kick hit the post. Salford went in at half time one nil down.

In the second half Salford came out a different side, within minutes a long ball up to Holly sent Anne on her way to goal she belted the ball into the top corner of the net leaving the Burnley keeper with no chance, 1-1. Some neat passing produced the second goal of the game for Salford; a quick ball out of defence to Siohban who slipped the ball through to Kerry and Kerry completed the move flicking the ball past the keeper 1-2.

A few changes were made in the Salford formation, Tilly who had been carrying an injury almost minutes into the start of the match was taken off and Chelsea entered the game. Anne was moved out wide and Clare Daly was moved forward. Chantelle, Katie, Claire Harrop and Claire Beard were much more settled at the back, once again a quick ball out of defence and a great pass from Holly put Clare Daly one on one with the keeper, 1-3.

Burnley didn't let their heads go down, a fantastic save from Sam Salford's keeper stopped Burnley getting back into the game. Salford produced some good work down the left, Clare Beard passed the ball to Anne and a one two with Holly broke through the Burnley defence, Anne belted the ball over the keeper's head, 1-4.

Salford were unstoppable but were denied more goals from Chelsea, Clare and Kerry by the efforts of the Burnley keeper. Once again Salford passed the ball brilliantly, Siohban threaded the ball to Kerry who hit a thunderous shot, which flew past the keeper into the back of the Burnley net. Full time 1-5.
